Reduction Smelting of the Waelz Slag from Electric Arc Furnace Dust Processing: An Experimental Study

چکیده

Waelz slag is an iron-containing waste generated during electric arc furnace (EAF) dust processing in a rotary kiln named the process. This study focuses on reduction smelting of to produce iron-based alloy. The thermodynamic simulation using FactSage 8.0 software was carried out predict temperatures metal and obtained as well their compositions. Based results, experiments were performed laboratory scale two approaches, with without preliminary froth flotation carbon, respectively. have confirmed technological possibility from EAF processing. approach carbon at 1500 °C resulted high-copper cast iron production, while flotation, where smelted 1650 addition SiO2 flux, led obtaining low-silicon ferrosilicon high Cu content, attractive for construction industry.
